  • Every school day begins at 8AM and classes end at 5PM Monday through Thursday. On Fridays year round, school ends at 1PM.
  • Transportation to and from the Mamaroneck, NY Metro North train station is provided for students commuting by train.
  • The “Home Away from Home” program provides transportation, meals and a welcoming home for students living outside of the immediate area. After a long school day followed by a late after-school activity, it’s nice to have a friendly place to stay nearby with an easy commute for the following morning.
  • The WHHS lunch program is available Monday through Thursday.
  • WHHS offers students the opportunity to take Advanced Placement classes in the sophomore year based upon the needs and achievement of each individual. Many students complete two or more AP courses in preparation for college admission.
  • Our Mechina program is designed for students with limited Jewish education or Hebrew skills. It is a two-year program that successfully mainstreams students into regular Judaic studies classes by their junior year. Scholarships are available to students who may otherwise be unable to attend a Jewish high school.
  • WHHS celebrates every Rosh Chodesh with a sponsored breakfast and a special activity before classes.
  • Extracurricular activities at WHHS span a wide range of interests, including athletic teams, special interest clubs, student publications and competitive academic teams.
  • Chessed: WHHS participate in numerous Chessed opportunities throughout the year, including visits to the homebound, providing Shiva minyanim, Chanukah celebrations with hospital patients, Habitat for Humanity, volunteering in soup kitchens, as well as preparing packages for US troops in Iraq,
  • The Parent Council is an integral force at WHHS, providing both social and fundraising support to the school. The Council helps to foster a sense of family and community for WHHS students, parents and faculty.
  • The Westchester Hebrew High School Annual Scholarship Dinner is the school’s largest fundraising activity. The Annual Fund, which can be used for matching grants and contributions, also supports school activities.
