Westchester Hebrew High School offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams to qualified students beginning in the sophomore year. AP classes are offered in Biology, Calculus, English Literature, European History, Psychology, US Government and Politics and US History. Our students’ scores far surpass the national average for each exam. AP exams are given scores of 1 to 5. Scores of 3 or higher earn advanced placement and/or credit at many universities.
Biology
In 2009, half of our students earned a top score of 5 and the entire AP Biology class scored 4 or better. This is almost triple the national average for scores of 5.
Calculus
All of our Calculus students scored 3 or higher (almost double the national average). Scores of 4 and 5 were earned by 75% of our students.
English Literature
Nationally, only 20% of students taking this exam score a 4 or 5 but at WHHS, 50% of our students earned this prestigious ranking.
