Chessed, Jewish Life & Israel Activism

At WHHS, Chessed is not an abstract concept, nor is it something students do for the purpose of accruing community service hours.  By building Chessed "hours" into classtime, our message to students could not be clearer:  עולם חסד יבנה.  Chessed projects included Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at Food Banks, visiting senior citizens in their homes and nursing homes, and preparing care packages for US soldiers serving overseas, to name just a few.

In addition to making a difference at home, Israel is always in our hearts and on our minds.  It is no coincidence that close to 70% of WHHS graduates participate in a post-high school program in Israel, be it yeshiva, seminar, IDF service or university program.
