Mahler, Mrs. Gail

History

Gail Mahler teaches Global History, AP European History, US History, and AP US History to 10th and 11th grade students at WHHS. In addition, she developed and teaches the WHHS senior seminars on the Holocaust and Zionism. Mrs. Mahler has participated in numerous workshops and conferences for Advanced Placement teachers. In addition, she has been acknowledged for her commitment to education and exemplary teaching, most recently recognized by the Westchester Lower Hudson Council for Social Studies in 2011. She espouses the philosophy of fellow City College graduate and children’s author Seymour Simon, “I'm more interested in arousing enthusiasm in kids than in teaching the facts. The facts may change, but that enthusiasm for exploring the world will remain with them the rest of their lives.”
